The Society’s 58th AGM will review the year’s activities and accounts. Following the business meeting there will be a chance to see a new short film about Thomas Layton’s book collection and James Wisdom will provide a briefing about the Society’s summer outing to Winchester and the Meon Valley. Journal 25 will be issued at the meeting, and afterwards copies will be posted to those members unable to attend.

A presentation and demonstration by Bob Shoemaker, Professor of British History, University of Sheffield & co-founder of the Old Bailey Proceedings Online. The Digital Panopticon project is tracing the lives of 90,000 convicts sentenced at the Old Bailey to transportation or imprisonment. It is a collaboration between the Universities of Sheffield, Liverpool, Sussex, Oxford and Tasmania, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council.
