The Society was established to encourage interest in and research about the history of our area. If you would like to get involved, you can find a great deal of background information in the local history section of this site. For good general historical background use the digitised Victoria County History of Middlesex, volume 7, for Brentford (which was part of Ealing Parish) and for Chiswick.
The rich raw materials for a study of the history of Brentford or Chiswick are to be found in a number of museums, libraries and archives:
Hounslow’s Local History Collections
Local History Sources
Reviews of local history books
Gill Clegg’s Chiswick History
Out West: Brentford, Chiswick & the Growth of Greater London 1894-1927, Tracey Logan Doctoral thesis 2022
