Syon abbey, an internationally important site on our doorstep, 21 November

The Abbey reimagined by Time Team

an online talk by Bob Cowie at 7.30pm on Monday, 21 November 2022

Archaeologist Bob Cowie has been involved in excavations at Syon over many years. He tells us his illustrated talk features Time Team, foreshore archaeology, excavations at Shene Charterhouse and Richmond Palace, Swedish nuns, medieval England’s wealthiest nunnery, Henry V’s plans for a royal palace and three great religious houses (two mentioned by Shakespeare) with a bit of gratuitous violence thrown in for good measure. This is a joint event with the Isleworth Society and the Hounslow & District History Society

We will admit ticket-holders from 7.15 to allow people to get settled before the formal start at 7.30.

There will be no charge to join this event but please reserve your place via Ticket Tailor – your ticket will provide the Zoom joining details.
