The author is better known to members of the Local History Society as Shirley Seaton, co-author of Stamford Brook, an affectionate portrait. In this book she tells, in words and pictures, the story of a local tennis club. The book describes the club’s grounds (its historic pavilion was burnt down in 1985 but rebuilt), its members, club matches and social events.
