Creating the Chiswick Timeline

An illustrated talk by Karen Liebreich and Sarah Cruz, project co-ordinators from Abundance London, about the new murals under the Turnham Green Station bridge. The initial idea became an ambitious project supported by a concertina-style publication with all the maps and images, postcards of the illustrations and lively community activities creating a ceramic model of Chiswick and a needlework map. All are welcome

Gunnersbury Park: the Place and the People

A talk by James Wisdom and Val Bott using the 65 images, some newly discovered, and their recent research for their new book on the history of the Gunnersbury estate. Published by Scala Publications and sponsored by the Friends of Gunnersbury Park & Museum this will be on sale on the night at £6.95 a copy. All are welcome

Medieval treasure in the Thames: accident, rubbish or ritual?

John Clark, for many years a Museum of London curator, considers why the 2,600 objects from the Thames now in the Museum’s collection – ranging from Anglo-Saxon spearheads found at Brentford to pilgrim badges from the City – were deposited in the river. All welcome.
