The Society’s monthly talks take place at 7.30pm at Chiswick Memorial Club, Afton House, Bourne Place, London W4 – Bourne Place runs parallel to Chiswick High Road, between Dukes Avenue and Duke Road.

Unearthing Hounslow
an illustrated talk on recent community archaeology in Brentford and Syon Park by Kathryn Creed, Archaeology Learning Programme Manager and Glynn Davies, Archaeology Collections Manager (Volunteers), Museum of London

18 February
A History of Brewing in Chiswick
an illustrated talk by Val Bott looking at this significant part of the local economy, from domestic brew-house to micro-brewery. Val researched the subject for a 2012 exhibition at Hogarth’s House

18 March
The London University Boat Club and its Chiswick boat house
an illustrated talk by Siobhan Cassidy who has been researching this aspect of local sporting history

15 April
Brentford Waterways: Thames, Brent, canal and dock
an illustrated talk by Janet McNamara, our Society’s Vice-Chairman and a Hounslow Heritage Guide

20 May
Annual General Meeting
In addition to the business meeting Journal 22 will be issued on this evening; copies will then be posted to members unable to collect their copy in person
