This attractive illustrated booklet was one of the outcomes of a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Its aim is to raise the profile of the extraordinary life and the surviving collection of the antiquarian, Thomas Layton (1819-1911). His books and prints are held at Hounslow Library and his antiquities are in Gunnersbury Park Museum and the Museum of London. The book also explores something of Brentford’s past in Thomas Layton’s time.
