A Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society talk in person and on-line
An illustrated talk by David Shailes, sharing his recent research. The coal gas industry brought technical innovation, improved lighting and raised living standards for the poor. The local works took over Brentford’s Victorian river front but have now completely disappeared. David is one of our committee members and heads the Brentford Voice Heritage & Conservation group.
For the first time since 2020 we are returning to the Chiswick Memorial Club, Bourne Place, W4, for our talks programme. However, we will also be offering the talks by Zoom; the technology for this is rather complicated and we are hoping it will work smoothly! There is no charge to come to this event.
To join on-line please reserve your place via Ticket Tailor at
