If you have not already discovered the London Luminaries it is worth exploring their current talks programme which began recently. The current series follows the theme of Love and Death – there is a talk tonight, 2 August, about the close friendship between J M W Turner and Sir John Soane.
Boston Manor House, Chiswick House, Gunnersbury Park Museum and Hogarth’s House, our local historic houses, are amongst the 15 historic properties in West London that make up the Luminaries. They work together to offer an unusual online talks programme each year. Full details of the properties which this includes and, more importantly, the subjects and dates of forthcoming talks can be found here. You can sign up for a free place or make a donation – the income is shared out between the 15 properties.
There are recordings of most of the talks given in past programmes on YouTube, accessed from the website very enjoyable!
