A presentation and demonstration by Bob Shoemaker, Professor of British History, University of Sheffield & co-founder of the Old Bailey Proceedings Online. The Digital Panopticon project is tracing the lives of 90,000 convicts sentenced at the Old Bailey to transportation or imprisonment. It is a collaboration between the Universities of Sheffield, Liverpool, Sussex, Oxford and Tasmania, funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council.
