Sarah Crease was the daughter of John Lindley, the eminent botanist, and spent her early life in the area which later became the suburb of Bedford Park on the Chiswick/Acton border. She went with her husband to live in Vancouver in 1859 and lived to be 96; her husband became the first Attorney General in the colony. Her diaries, journals, photos and accomplished sketches are now in the archives of British Columbia, one of whose archivists has written this terrific biography.
